Family Therapy

There isn’t just one way to describe family therapy—it looks different for every family and depends on the setting and needs of those involved. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with children, teens, and parents, and I believe that the best way to support a child’s emotional and behavioral well-being is by strengthening the entire family system.

When children and adolescents are struggling with anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, trauma, or life transitions, the most impactful support comes from their parents or guardians. My approach to family counseling is flexible and tailored to your unique relationships. At times, I meet with the whole family, just parents or guardians, one parent and child, siblings, or occasionally, an individual family member. This flexibility allows us to strengthen the connections that matter most while addressing family dynamics in a way that promotes lasting change.

In our work together, I help families improve communication, conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and relationship-building. I also support families navigating anxiety, depression, blended family dynamics, addiction recovery, parenting struggles, and major life transitions. The goal of family therapy is to foster understanding, healing, and resilience, creating a healthier and more connected home environment for everyone involved.

Parenting Support

Parenting is the hardest job I’ve ever had—and that’s exactly why I’m so passionate about helping parents navigate it. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with parents in many capacities, but becoming a parent myself has deepened my appreciation for the challenges, uncertainties, and emotional demands that come with raising children.

Whether you’re welcoming a new baby, managing toddler tantrums, or surviving the teenage years, parenting can feel overwhelming. There’s endless advice, opinions, and expectations—sometimes making it hard to know what’s truly helpful. My role is to help you filter through the noise, focus on what works for your family, and develop strategies that foster confidence, connection, and resilience.

One of the most important parts of effective parenting is learning to regulate your own emotions before responding to your child’s behavior. Parent coaching and parenting support isn’t just about learning new tools—it’s about developing the ability to stay calm, present, and attuned so you can apply those tools effectively. By working together, we’ll explore nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and mindful parenting strategies to help you feel more in control and connected to your child.

I firmly believe that parents are always doing the best they can in any given moment—and that there’s always room to grow. I offer a judgment-free space where you can learn, reflect, and build a parenting approach that aligns with your values, so you can feel proud of the job you’re doing.

Research shows that family therapy strengthens emotional bonds, improves communication, and fosters a more secure home environment by helping family members navigate challenges together (American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, 2023).

Studies indicate that the parent child relationship is paramount for creating the foundation for a child's healthy emotional development (Lender, Integrative Attachment Family Therapy, 2023).
